LHM Engineering is excited to announce that we have implemented our ITAR compliance program and are now registered as a manufacturer with the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) and the System for Award Management (SAM). These milestones mark a significant step forward in our ability to serve the defense industry, offering precision-machined components with the highest standards for quality and compliance.
What is ITAR?
The International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are a set of U.S. government regulations administered by the Department of State to control the export and import of defense-related articles, services, and technical data. ITAR’s primary purpose is to ensure that sensitive military technologies and information do not fall into the wrong hands, thereby safeguarding U.S. national security. ITAR-compliant companies, like LHM Engineering, adhere to strict guidelines on handling data and manufacturing defense-related products, making us a trusted manufacturing partner for defense contractors and government agencies.

SAM Registration for Federal Contracting and Subcontracting
In addition to ITAR compliance, LHM Engineering is now registered in the System for Award Management (SAM), which is the official U.S. government system that consolidates the capabilities of various federal procurement systems. SAM registration is critical for companies engaged in federal contracting and subcontracting opportunities. This registration enables LHM Engineering to bid on government contracts and work as a subcontractor on federally funded projects.
